PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final week of the school year! As we wrap things up, I want to take a moment to thank you all for your support, partnership, and care throughout the year. From Penguin Huddles and buddy projects to field trips, special events, and everything in between, it’s been a year full of learning, laughter, and connection.

Tomorrow, 5th-grade families come together to celebrate our amazing 5th graders during the Farewell Ceremony. This special event, followed by lunch and recess, marks the end of their Proctor journey. It’s a meaningful way for them to say goodbye to a place that’s meant so much to them. We’re incredibly proud of who they’ve become and excited for all that’s ahead in middle school!

To make their send-off even more memorable, 5th-grade students are invited into the building on Tuesday, June 17th, beginning at 8:10 to have their yearbooks signed by former teachers and staff. It’s a chance to reconnect and reflect on the memories they’ve made here.

On Tuesday, we’ll be holding our Step Up Day for all students. While classroom assignments won't be shared until August, this is a fun opportunity for students to meet the teachers in the next grade and get a little taste of what’s to come next year.

Thanks again for being such an important part of our school community. We’re so grateful for everything you do, and we wish you a joyful, restful summer ahead.

This weekly newsletter will outline the following updates:

Respectfully,

Stacy Mahoney

WEEKLY UPDATES
pride

June is Pride Month!

At Proctor, we believe in creating a school community where every student and family feels seen, respected, and valued. During Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity of our community and affirm that all people, no matter their families, identities, or backgrounds, belong here. Throughout the month, we will share age-appropriate books and classroom conversations that focus on kindness, inclusion, and being proud of who you are. We’re proud to be a place where all Penguins can thrive by being themselves!

Eid al-Adha – June 6

Eid al-Adha is an important holiday celebrated by many Muslim families around the world. It is a time of prayer, generosity, and gathering with loved ones. We wish a joyful and peaceful Eid to all who are celebrating! At Proctor, we honor the many cultures and traditions that make up our school community and help us all learn and grow together.

Juneteenth – June 19

Juneteenth is a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It marks the moment in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. At Proctor, we use this time to honor Black history, celebrate freedom, and reflect on the ongoing work of equity and justice. Classrooms may engage in age-appropriate read-alouds and conversations to help students better understand the importance of this day in American history.
