Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,
What a special week it has been here at Proctor! Picture Day was such a treat! Our hallways were filled with smiles, pressed shirts, and shiny shoes. It warmed our hearts to see every student so proud and excited to capture their school photo.
Our Back to School “Here We Glow” Dance and Pizza Party was an absolute blast! Thank you to our wonderful PTO, DJ Mike for keeping the music rolling, and the many hands who helped with setup and cleanup. A very special shoutout goes to our head custodian, Ms. Pam Banks, who worked behind the scenes to make sure the night was smooth and successful. We are so grateful for her dedication.
As we step into October, we also honor Bullying Prevention Month. At Proctor, this connects directly to the living The Penguin Way: we take care of ourselves, each other, and our school. When we stand up to bullying, when we show kindness and respect, we are living out what it means to be a Proctor Penguin.
Through our Second Step curriculum, students are beginning the Bullying Prevention Unit. They’ll learn:
- how to recognize what bullying looks and feels like,
- how to refuse and stand up in safe, respectful ways, and
- how to report concerns to trusted adults.
I encourage you to ask your child what they’re learning. It’s a wonderful way to reinforce at home that we all play a role in keeping our school safe and caring.
Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us each day. We are grateful for the partnership we share in raising not only learners, but kind and courageous people.
Important reminder: There is no school this Thursday in observance of Yom Kippur. We send love and light to everyone in our community who celebrates.
Thank you for taking the time to read our weekly newsletter. This weekly newsletter will outline the following updates:
- Save the Date
- REMINDER: NO SCHOOL on Thursday
- PTO Updates
Respectfully,
Stacy Mahoney and the Proctor Team
