Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

What a wonderful evening we had at Trunk or Treat on Friday! A huge thank you to our PTO for organizing such a fun and festive event, and to all of the families and staff who joined us. It’s always so special to see our community come together in ways that bring joy and excitement to our students.

As a reminder, conference sign-ups were shared with families on Friday afternoon. If you have any questions or need support with the process, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher—they are happy to help.

We are also aware that some families have not yet received their child’s school photos. We are in communication with the company and will share updates as soon as possible—thank you for your patience.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and for all you do to support our Proctor Penguins.

This weekly newsletter will outline the following updates:
  • Save the Date
  • Morning Arrival Reminder
  • Halloween Parade- 10/31
  • PTO
  • NSPAC

Respectfully,

Stacy Mahoney and the Proctor Team

Parent/Caregiver Teacher Conferences

Parent/Caregiver-Teacher Conferences are just around the corner, and I invite you to schedule a meeting with your child's teacher. These in-person conferences provide an invaluable opportunity to discuss your child's progress, address any questions/concerns, and collaborate with teachers to support your child's academic journey. Classroom teachers will send a sign-up via ParentSquare, which will be distributed this Friday, October 24, at 3:00 p.m.

If you require an interpreter, your conference will be scheduled accordingly. Please do not schedule a time through ParentSquare.
*Special educators will be sending messages to families of students on their respective caseloads. Should you wish to schedule a time with your child's special education liaison, please be sure to email them directly. Our Reading Specialists will send out a message to families if you wish to sign up for a conference with them as well.

*Our specialists are also available to meet if needed. You can email them directly to schedule a time.

Morning Drop Off Line

We’ve noticed that a few families are exiting their vehicles during morning Drop & Go. As a reminder, the purpose of Drop & Go is to keep the line moving smoothly. Students should be ready to exit independently, and drivers should remain in their cars.

If you need to walk your child to the door or take a little extra time, please consider parking on Jefferson Road and walking over. This helps us maintain a safe and efficient flow for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us make arrival safe and smooth for all of our Penguins!

Halloween Parade

We are looking forward to a fun-filled Halloween this year. Throughout the school day on October 31, our activities will focus on the fall season, and there will be no in-class activities specifically related to Halloween. Toward the end of the day, around 2pm, students will have the option to participate in a costume parade or take part in a craft activity in the cafeteria. The craft will not have any Halloween themes, making it a comfortable option for all students.

We encourage all families to send their children to school on October 31. If you have any questions or concerns about what your child will be doing that day, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher or Mrs. Mahoney.

The Halloween Parade will take place on Friday, October 31, from 2:00-2:30 pm on the upper wing field. An alternative craft activity will be available in the cafeteria at the same time for students who prefer not to participate in the parade.

Fun Activities
During the time of the parade, there will be a fun activity being held in the cafeteria for all students who are not participating in the Halloween parade. If your child would prefer to make cloud slime with Mr. Doherty,  Please email your teacher to let them know if your child would prefer to attend the alternate activity. This will help us plan ahead.

Halloween Parade
The Halloween Parade will be from 2-2:30 pm. Students should bring their costumes to school, but we ask that students do not wear them to school. We will line up by classrooms outside and the parade will begin at approximately 2:10. Students will parade around the field with their classroom teacher. There will not be time for students to take off their costumes before dismissal.

For any families who are interested in being spectators for the parade, we invite you to line up on the side of the field. Should the weather not cooperate on the day of the parade we will move the parade indoors. Unfortunately, we will not have families join us inside so we do hope the weather holds out!

Halloween Parade and Costume Guidance
  • Wear clothing under costumes
  • No Dogs or other animals on school grounds
  • No Masks- faces must not be covered
  • No weapons, sharp objects, or violent-themed costumes
  • No props or accessories
  • Students will wear their costumes home
