Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

Another action-packed week at Proctor School is in the books! As we gear up for Thanksgiving, I want to extend a special thank you to our Proctor Spirit Squad, led by Mrs. Casey Miller and Mrs. Kara Bayley, for organizing our food drive to support the Northborough Food Pantry. Thank you to every family who donated items. We are so appreciative of what we have and always excited to give back to our community. That’s the Penguin Way.

Even with all the excitement, meaningful academic learning continues every day. For example, in Mrs. Kinney’s kindergarten class, students are exploring flat shapes and polygons in our new Eureka Squared math curriculum. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity and engagement grow!

Whole School Pajama Day!
As a celebration of the incredible fundraising our school community accomplished during the Fun Run, Wednesday will be a whole-school Pajama Day. Students and staff are invited to wear school-appropriate pajamas (with sneakers for safety). Thank you again for your generosity and enthusiasm!

As we head into the holiday, we want to wish all of our Proctor families a peaceful and restful Thanksgiving recess. A few reminders for this week:
  • Wednesday is an early release day. Dismissal is at 11:40.
  • If your child’s dismissal plans will be different on Wednesday, please email proctorattendance@nsboro.k12.ma.us ahead of time.
  • No lunches will be served on Wednesday, so please plan accordingly.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and for all you do to support our Proctor Penguins.

This weekly newsletter will outline the following updates:
  • Save the Date
  • 5th Grade Tech Evening
  • All Town Chorus

5th Grade All Town Chorus Tree Lighting

The students in 5th Grade Chorus across the Northborough schools are invited to come together as the All-Town Chorus a few times throughout the school year. The first opportunity is to sing at the Northborough Community Lighting on Saturday, December 6th which will take place at Blake Street in the center of Downtown Northborough. This event is OPTIONAL for attendance, but highly recommended to promote engagement between the elementary schools and their community.

The entire event kicks-off at 5:00pm with a few speeches and the lighting of the Community Tree, followed by a holiday sing along led by the 5th Graders. Students wanting to participate in the Tree Lighting Sing-Along should arrive by 4:30pm to check-in with a music teacher and get their lyric packets. Families are welcome to attend and enjoy the festivities, but participating students MUST have a supervising adult with them for this event. This will be an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s music teacher via email or school office.

We hope to see many families there!

3rd Grade Physicals

The Massachusetts Department of Health requires that all children attending public schools have a health evaluation by a physician every three years. Your pediatrician’s office can fax your child’s school/sport/camp physical to school through my confidential fax line 508-501-8827. If there is any difficulty with this request, please call me. We can help!

 Thank you!

Proctor PTO

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Fall Fundraiser/Fun Run. We raised a little over $7,000! All winners will be announced early next week and prizes/experiences will be awarded within the next few weeks. Because we did not quite reach our goal of $10,000, the money will be held in savings while we explore additional ways to fully fund the sign.

Upcoming Events:
