Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

This week, Proctor had the opportunity to host approximately 30 educators from around the country as a host school for Harvard’s Instructional Rounds. Our visitors spent time learning about our school context and observing teaching and learning in classrooms. We were proud to showcase our students, staff, and the strong work happening across the building, and we appreciated the thoughtful conversations that followed.

We also enjoyed our second Waddling with Waddles morning walk! It’s been a fun way to get moving together first thing in the morning and start the day feeling connected and energized. We love seeing students and staff waddling through the building alongside Waddles.

In math news, Mrs. Iannacone, our 5th-grade teacher and whole-school ST Math Champion, has launched our school-wide weekly “What’s the Math Wednesday” challenge. During this activity, students select an ST Math puzzle they are working on and use their mathematical thinking and language to explain how the puzzle works and how they solved it. This helps students deepen their understanding, practice math vocabulary, and make their thinking visible.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and for all you do to support our Proctor Penguins.

Morning Drop-Off Reminder

As we move into the winter months, our morning traffic pattern becomes even more important for safety and efficiency. Two quick reminders:

1. Drop-and-Go Lane
Our drop-off line is a drop-and-go. Please do not exit your vehicle for extended goodbyes. Even short delays create a traffic backup and slow down families who need to get to their next destination. Staff are outside and ready to help students enter safely.

2. Passing Vans with Flashing Lights
If you arrive after 8:25 a.m. and there are school transport vans in front of you with flashing lights, you are not permitted to pass. Please wait until the lights are off before proceeding. This is a safety requirement to ensure students are entering the building safely.

Thank you for helping us keep morning arrival smooth and safe for all.
