Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

Welcome to March! This month always feels equally exciting and just a little surreal: exciting because we are heading into so many wonderful spring traditions and celebrations, and surreal because it signals that the remainder of the school year tends to fly by. The weeks ahead will be full, meaningful, and fast-paced in the very best way.

You should have received communication from your child’s classroom teacher regarding upcoming parent-teacher conferences. We value this time to connect, reflect on student growth, and partner together to support continued progress. In addition to classroom teachers, all specialists and service providers will be available during conference times. If you would like to meet with a specialist, please reach out to them directly to schedule a time.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming Read-A-Thon, which is always a favorite at Proctor. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate literacy, build excitement around reading, and strengthen our community of learners. More details will be shared soon about volunteers.

And this Wednesday, we will be Waddling with Waddles during arrival from 8:10–8:30 AM! We hope you will join us for a fun and energizing start to the day. If you are interested in helping supervise or volunteering, please contact the PTO directly.

As always, thank you for your partnership and for being such an important part of our Proctor community. The months ahead may move quickly, but they will be filled with learning, belonging, and celebration.

Together we live the Penguin Way by taking care of ourselves, each other, and our school.

The Quest For School Breakfast

National School Breakfast Week Campaign Encourages Students to
Try School Breakfast

To encourage more families to take advantage of the healthy choices
available with school breakfast, Northborough/Southborough
schools will celebrate National School Breakfast Week (NSBW)
during March 2-6, 2026.

Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for many families to find
time for a healthy breakfast. Fortunately, our schools offer nutritious
school breakfasts, complete with fruit and low-fat or fat-free milk, to
ensure students are fueled for learning every school day.

The 2026 NSBW campaign theme, “The Quest For School Breakfast,” reminds the entire school  community that school breakfast provides a healthy and energizing start to the day for students. Studies  show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to:
• Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
• Score higher on standardized tests
• Have better concentration and memory
• Be more alert
• Maintain a healthy weight

School nutrition professionals and students will be encouraged to show their enthusiasm for school  breakfast from March 2-6 as the district celebrates NSBW with special menus, activities, and more.
“A healthy breakfast at the start of the day is a great way to ensure students are nourished and ready to  learn,” said Linda St. Hilaire. “National School Breakfast Week helps us educate parents and students  about all the nutritious and delicious choices we offer.”
About National School Breakfast Week
National School Breakfast Week was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School  Breakfast Program, a federally assisted meal program operating in public and non-profit private schools  and residential child care institutions since 1975.

LAST CALL: Help Us Reimagine Field Day: Join the Action Team!

As we begin planning for Field Day this spring, we are excited to approach the experience with fresh thinking and a continued focus on inclusion, engagement, and belonging for all students.

We are inviting parents and caregivers who are interested in being part of a small “action team” to help us reflect on past Field Day experiences and collaborate on ideas to ensure the day is accessible, joyful, and meaningful for every learner. This group will partner with school staff to think about activity design, participation structures, and ways to support a wide range of student needs and strengths.

Participation will include about 3 planning conversations (virtual or in person) leading up to the event. If you are interested in being part of this collaborative effort, please send me an email by FEBRUARY 27.

We are grateful for the partnership of our families and look forward to building something special together for our students.
