Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

It was a great week at Proctor, and I want to start by thanking everyone who joined us for Waddling with Waddles and for helping launch our Read-A-Thon. Events like these are always a lot of fun for the kids, and it’s great to see so many families able to join us.

It was also really nice seeing many of you during parent-teacher conferences this week. Conferences are such an important time for teachers and families to connect about students’ growth and experiences at school. I also loved seeing a few former Proctor Penguins stop by as well. Those moments are always special and a nice reminder of how strong the Proctor community continues to be even after students move on.

A special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Ali for visiting Mrs. Schwehr’s class on Friday. They shared a bit about Eid and led the students in a hands-on activity. The kids were very engaged and asked lots of thoughtful questions. We are grateful when families are willing to come in and share their experiences and traditions with our students.

One of our goals at Proctor is to continue strengthening family and caregiver engagement in each child’s educational journey. Over the past year or so, we’ve worked to create more opportunities for families to connect with what’s happening at school. At the same time, we know that engagement can look different for every family. There are many ways families stay connected to their child’s school experience and to our school community, and those may look different from one family to the next. We appreciate the many ways our Proctor families partner with us.

If you ever have ideas or suggestions for how we can continue to support strong partnerships with families, please feel free to reach out. We really appreciate our Proctor families and all the ways you support our students and school community.

As always, thank you for your partnership and for being such an important part of our Proctor community. Together we live the Penguin Way by taking care of ourselves, each other, and our school.
