Dear Proctor Penguins and Families,

We’re excited to share that our 5th graders recently attended their field trip to the Christa McAuliffe Center (photo above)! This is always such a memorable experience, and our students had a wonderful time engaging in hands-on, immersive learning. Thank you to our staff and chaperones who helped make this opportunity possible.

We have officially entered MCAS season, and our students are ready. Our schedule for this week is Grade 5 ELA on Monday and Tuesday, followed by Grade 4 ELA on Wednesday and Thursday. Grade 3 will test the week following our long weekend.

As a reminder, students enjoy testing alongside their classmates, so we encourage attendance on scheduled testing days whenever possible. A good night’s sleep and a calm start to the day can make a big difference in helping students feel confident and prepared. This is a great opportunity for students to show what they know while also taking care of themselves which is one of the core parts of the Penguin Way.

I also want to take a moment to thank the parents, caregivers, and teachers who joined us for our first Field Day Action Team meeting. This work is grounded in the Penguin Way as well—taking care of each other and our school by ensuring that all students feel included and able to fully participate. We are excited to begin thinking about small, meaningful adjustments to the structure of Field Day to create an inclusive and engaging experience for all learners. I’m looking forward to sharing more as this work continues.

Please also note that there is no school this Friday. We hope you enjoy the long weekend ahead.

As always, thank you for your partnership and for being such an important part of our Proctor community. Together we live the Penguin Way by taking care of ourselves, each other, and our school.

2026-2027 Student Placement Feedback Form

Parents and caregivers of students currently in grades K–4 are invited to share input to support the class placement process by completing the following Google Form by Friday, April 24.

We value your perspective and appreciate any insights you can share about your child as a learner. This might include educational, medical, social, or emotional factors that you feel would be helpful for us to consider as we begin planning for next year.

As part of a thoughtful and balanced process, we are not able to accommodate requests for specific teachers or guarantee placement with friends. Our goal is to create classroom communities where all students feel supported, connected, and set up for success, and your input is one important part of that process.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Mahoney. Please also note that the information shared on this form will be reviewed by classroom teachers, as they are an important part of the placement process.

Thank you for your partnership and support.
